Interactive Game with $10K and Instant Prizes Up for Grabs for KFC
Promotion Overview
During the T20 Big Bash League, Channel 7 promoted the KFC 'Bucket Ball Fan Hit' competition, giving fans the chance to win $10,000 in cash and one of 200 instant $25 KFC vouchers. The campaign was designed to engage cricket fans at key moments throughout the broadcast, adding an interactive and rewarding element to the viewing experience.
To participate, players took a virtual "free hit" using a drummy bat to strike a cricket ball into a KFC bucket. This fun and gamified approach tied into both the sport and the brand, creating an engaging and memorable promotion.
Our Role
KO designed and developed the interactive game, ensuring a seamless and entertaining experience for users. The microsite was built to support high traffic volumes while delivering smooth gameplay and instant win mechanics. We handled the fulfilment of 200 winners using KFC-branded Vault Gift Cards and managed customer service to provide support throughout the promotion. In addition, we designed and delivered the promotional EDMs to drive participation.
Results & Impact
The promotion saw massive engagement throughout December and January, with over thousands of entries per day. By integrating a simple yet fun cricket-themed game with an instant win element, the campaign successfully captured audience attention and reinforced KFC’s connection to the Big Bash League.
Partners
Ansible Australia led the campaign execution, with KFC as the brand sponsor. Channel 7 provided the promotional platform through its Big Bash League coverage, while we leveraged our API with Vault to facilitate the fulfilment of digital gift cards instantly to winners.
